This balm has been
sat in my dressing table for quite a few months now, for some reason I just
never had the incentive to try it and with me being a self confessed Clarins
addict an all this wasn't normal. So one morning I spotted it and thought I
would give it a go, it didn't disappoint.
Clarins describe
this product as:
"The ultimate
pick-me-up for tired/stressed skin - Clarins best-selling radiance booster helps
eliminate signs of fatigue in a flash! Instantly moisturises, brightens and
tightens facial contours so skin looks rested and relaxed".
You are meant to
apply after cleansing and toning so it pretty much acts as a moisturiser however
my skin is often on the dry side so I felt I needed a little more moisture than
just this on it's own so I have been applying a thin layer of moisturiser before
I apply the balm. When applying the balm you are not meant to massage in, just
literally sweep a layer over your skin and then go on to apply your makeup
afterwards, the reason for this is that the balm acts like a film so needs to
sit on top of your skin. I like to think of this balm as more of a primer in my
routine. It leaves a very smooth finish to the skin giving the perfect base for
your makeup, it is quite mattifying and doesn't leave any greasiness or residue.
It is designed to tighten wrinkles and contours which it definitely does, I
don't currently really have any wrinkles but fine lines around the eye area etc
are noticeably better after using this product.
You can also use
the balm
as a mask, apply a layer over the face and leave for around 10-15 minutes and
then rinse away. I haven't yet tried this balm as a mask yet but to be
completely honest if I need to use a moisturiser alongside this product when
applying in the morning I can't imagine it will be that moisturising when used
as a mask.
All in all, I
really do like this product. It does everything it says it's going to, it acts
as a perfect primer for makeup, it brightens the skin and reduces wrinkles and
fine lines. However and the Clarins addict in me is gonna hate me for what I'm
about to say, but I wouldn't re purchase this product. There's just something
missing for me and for £29.00 I would want a product that I absolutely love and
can't fault and this is just meh for me.
What do you think
to the Clarins Beauty Flash Balm?
I've been really wanting to try Beauty Flash Balm for the longest of times, but every time I go to buy it I stop myself. I know it's a bit of a 'cult' product but I never hear anyone rave about it particularly. I suspect that like you i'd just feel there was something missing for me x
ReplyDeleteHi Fifi, some people absolutely love it but it just wasn't right for me. Clarins often do smaller bottles as a free gift with some purchases so it's worth looking out for those offers if you want to try it xx
DeleteThis sounds like a great primer, I always mean to look at Clarins primers as I've heard great things but just haven't got the chance to. I'll be sure to check this out next time in a store x
ReplyDeleteBeauty with charm
Hi Alina, it's a really lovely product just wasn't right for me. The instant light primers are also really lovely xx
DeleteNice review :) I've been wanting to try this for a while, but I wasn't sure if it was worth the price tag or not... Would you say it made your make-up last longer?
ReplyDeleteSophie l SophieMLoves
Hi Sophie, it didn't really make my makeup last any longer than usual but it did give a really great base to apply makeup to. Honestly I would say it isn't worth the price tag, it's worth maybe going into Debenhams or somewhere similar and getting one of the girls to apply it for you just so you can get a feel for the product before spending your pennies xx
