Maxfactor Colour Elixir Glosses

When it comes to lip glosses I am a complete sucker, I often prefer them to lipsticks as they just give that nice hint of colour without being over the top - perfect for a natural day time look.

I spotted these lip glosses in Boots one day and couldn't resist them, there are 9 shades in the range but me being me I went for the neutral shades and picked up Glowing Peach and Pristine Nude. The glosses all benefit from a high shine 'glossy' finish and are infused with Candelilla Wax along with other shine enhancers and smoothing oils giving a moisturising texture similar to that of a lip balm. I often find with some lip glosses that my lips end up feeling stuck together and the gloss just gets transferred instantly when I eat or drink but these glosses seem to stay put but also have a lovely lightweight texture that means you barely even notice you are wearing them.

Within the range there are 4 what I like to call nude shades, ranging from a very light and sheer Radiant Rose to a more rich and deeper nude which is Lustrous Sand. There are 3 more pinky shades Luxurious Berry, Enchanting Coral and Delightful Pink and then there are 2 deeper shades of Polished Fuschia and Luscious Amethyst. As I mentioned above I only purchased two of the nude shades but when looking through the shades within the range in Boots I was really surprised as to how pigmented the brighter colours were, I often find that brighter coloured lip glosses always look great in the tube but then go completely sheer when on the lips.

Glowing Peach is a really lovely soft peach shade, I have been wearing this over a nude lipstick for a polished day time look. The gloss is quite shimmery so be prepared for some sparkle ladies. Pristine Nude is my favourite, it contains very tiny glitter pigments which I just adore for evening wear as when the light hits you your lips look fantastic! Both of these shades are perfect to pair with a smokey eye which is the look I often go for in an evening when you want to keep your lips quite simple but still have a bit of shimmer or glitter, which is especially important for the upcoming festive season!

You can pick these glosses up in Boots for £7.99 each which I think is great value for money. I absolutely adore these lip glosses and will most definitely be purchasing in other shades in the very near future.

Have you tried these lip glosses? What do you think?
