Day 23 Christmas Countdown - Maxfactor Skin Luminizer Foundation

I just absolutely adore Maxfactor at the moment, they have got everything so right and have got some really great products out at the moment. The prices are always reasonable for the high street and they always deliver. I would say Maxfactor and L'Oreal are my favourite high street makeup brands at the moment.

I was super intrigued by this foundation when I first saw it, I assumed it would be more of a tinted moisturiser/bb cream kinda thing but I was pleasantly surprised. The packaging is clear, massive bonus point Maxfactor! I cannot tell you how irritated I get when packaging is not clear especially for things like foundation when you need to know how low you are running. Within the foundation are two swirls of product, one swirl is the actual foundation that gives the coverage and the other is an illuminating liquid which gives the glow to your face. The pump mixes the two products together so when it is dispersed it is already combined. The pump is really good quality, it doesn't leak or get clogged up and gives just the right amount of product.

I picked up shade Golden which is maybe just slightly on the darker side for my skin tone but the shade lighter was too pale. The formula is really creamy and quite thick but blends ultra easily. The coverage is light/medium so doesn't give full coverage but I don't particularly like a full coverage anyway. With my dry skin this foundation is perfect, I wouldn't necessarily recommend this if you have oily skin as the extra moisture from the illuminating liquid may throw you over the edge.

All in all I absolutely love this foundation, it's gives the dewy illuminated finish which I am a massive fan of and also hydrates the skin at the same time. For £11.99 I personally think this is great value for money, you only need a tiny blob of product to suffice for your whole face as it blends out so well. If you have dry skin like me and want to achieve that dewy finish then this is the foundation for you.
