Day 3 Christmas Countdown - Clarins The Essentials Palette

Day 3 of my Christmas Countdown is all about this Clarins Limited Edition Eyeshadow Palette. One of the things I love most about Christmas is the limited edition palettes that are released around this time of year.

This limited edition Christmas palette contains 10 wearable shades. As you all probably already know, I am a massive fan of neutral shade for shadows, that means anything brown, taupe, cream, gold, bronze etc is a big hitter for me. This palette just instantly shouted out to me with it's mixture of neutral and warm tones all housed in it's sleek glossy packaging, along with the 10 shadows there is also a double ended brush included.

With being mineral pressed powder shadows, they can be worn wet and dry. I have to be honest, the lighter shades of the palette are not the most pigmented of shadows I have ever tried but when used wet they give a much nicer subtle shimmer to the lid.

Shade 1, this is a really pale peachy matte shadow. Good for a shade to use all over the lid to even skin tone ready for other shades to go on top.
Shade 2, an ivory/champagne shade with a slight pink shimmer.
Shade 3, similar to shade 2 but with a more champagne shimmer rather than pink.
Shade 4, a bronze/brown shimmer shade.
Shade 5, this is a matte brown with a slight red/pink undertone. Lovely for blending into the crease.
Shade 6, this is the shade that just sells this palette. Anyone that looks at this palette instantly says ooh look at that gold shade. It's a gold glitter shadow, perfect for a Christmas party and looks beautiful used wet as a liner.
Shade 7, an antique gold shimmer shadow.
Shade 8, this is brown shadow with a metallic finish.
Shade 9, a matte taupe shade, I love using this all over the lid for a casual day time look.
Shade 10, this is a satin finish grey shade, the best way to describe is a gunmetal grey. Looks great for a chic smokey look.

All in all, I just adore this palette. It's perfect for creating any type of look and I actually use every shade out of the palette. Whenever I purchase a palette there is always at least one shade that I never use but what is great about this palette is that all the shades work beautifully together. You can create day time looks, evening looks and party looks with this palette. All the shadows are super blendable and give such a range of looks that can be achieved, there are metallic, matte, satin and shimmer shades all housed within this one beautiful palette for a cost of £35.00, that's £3.50 per shadow! This would be a lovely gift for any special ladies in your lives or even as just a special treat for yourself.
