#5 Sunday Sounds - My Top Face Masks

I am a big fan of face masks and completely rely on them to keep my skin looking it's best. There are so many different types of face masks out there that it is very easy to get confused and you end up going with something that isn 't the best for your skin type. I have been using face masks for a number of years now and as you can imagine have tried quite a number over the years so have come to understand and know what's best for my skin. I feel they are an integral part of any skincare regime and are just nice for an evening to yourself when you want a pamper and a glass of wine.

My all time favourite face mask is the Lancôme Hydra Intense Hydrating Gel Mask. As you can see from the name it is super hydrating, you apply it all over the face and leave to soak into your skin, I often leave it over night to make sure my skin gets the full effect and then just tissue off the excess in the morning. It is a clear gel which I much more prefer as it makes you feel that little more normal rather than having a green clay mask on. This mask is best for normal and combination skin types, it's designed to moisturise and refresh the skin and leaves it feeling hydrated and plump.

Next up is the Body Shop Vitamin E Face Mask, again this is another hydrating mask. One of the main ingredients in this mask is Vitamin E, this is super duper good for skin to help bring your skin back into it's optimum moisture level. It is very similar to the Lancôme mask in the way you apply and leave to sink in then tissue the excess. The mask has a lovely scent to it as do all the products in the Body Shop Vitamin E range and again it's great for normal to combination skin. With it being so hydrating and moisturising I would veer more towards to it when my skin is having more of a dry spell than an oily spell to avoid have a greasy meltdown.

The Ren Glycolactic Renewal Mask, this is an exfoliating peel that shifts dead skin cells and helps to remove any blockages in the pores to reveal a healthy looking complexion with a radiant glow and I can most certainly confirm that it does just that. I apply 1 pump of product for my whole face and just smooth on using my fingers. You are meant to leave it on for around 10 minutes, if I'm honest I leave it for a little longer, probably around 20 minutes. Not sure if this is the right or wrong thing to do but it works for me and my skin. I then remove with a damp cloth (the one which is included), it does say you may experience a slight tingling experience but I don't seem to get this at all. Once the mask is removed my skin is left so amazingly soft and healthy looking, it literally just glows.

Soap & Glory No Clogs Allowed, this is an exfoliating mask with small beads to remove dead skin. It has a slight minty scent to it which leaves skin feeling really fresh and clean. I apply this mask onto the face and then dampen my hands slightly and then massage, this creates a lovely warming sensation and turns the product blue (this is when you know it's ready to come off). Then remove with a warm flannel. Once all product is removed, rinse your face with cool water to close up your pores. The mask does get quite warm on your face but it’s not an uncomfortable heat and only lasts a matter of seconds really so it’s not something to put you off using it. After using this mask I can instantly tell a difference, my skin looks healthy and glowing straight away.

So they are my top face masks, what are yours? Do you have any recommendations?
