The Best of Illuminating Primers

I absolutely swear by primers, they just really help my base to stay put and also give a nice finish to the whole look. My favourite type of primers is of course the illuminating ones with me being a dewy finish fan. I have picked out my current favourite illuminating primers from a range of different price tags to hopefully give you some ideas.

Going from left to right, Soap & Glory Hocus Focus, helps to diffuse to the light and give skin a flawless illuminated soft focus look. When mixed into moisturiser the skin looks so bright and healthy and gives the perfect base to apply makeup onto. At £11.00 for 30ml bottle I think is pretty good value for money, the liquid is pretty light so a little goes a long way.

L'Oreal Lumi Magique Base, this is quite similar to the Hocus Focus primer but a little thicker and heavier in consistency. I use this under foundation and also sometimes just use a tiny blob for my cheekbones as it gives the most fantastic of finishes but be sure to blend, blend and blend. At £9.99 for 20ml it is the cheapest of the lot but it is also the smallest bottle.

Dior Glow Maximiser, I call this my tube of glow. I get so many compliments when I use this primer on how fantastic my makeup looks, I do tend to use this primer in the evening rather than day time as it is a little heavier and I just prefer to wear my more luxurious and expensive items at night when I am going out. This primer is also lovely worn mixed in with moisturiser for a day time look if you are wearing minimal makeup. At £28.50 for 30ml it is a little pricey but you only need the tiniest of amounts for your whole face.

Guerlain Meteorites Light Diffusing Primer, this is my holiday primer. It is a gel like liquid full of bronzed pearly beads. This primer helps to revive skin and give a healthier complexion, instead of the usual illuminating liquids this is a lovely alternative if you are looking for a more bronzed look rather than dewy and highlighted. At £42.00 for 30ml, yep you read that right, it is the most expensive of the lot but is also one of the nicest. It is super light on the skin making it perfect for holidays as you don't feel caked up and one pump is more than enough for your whole face, I have had this primer for well over a year and I'm not even a quarter of the way down yet.

Lastly, we have Clarins Instant Light Radiance Boosting Primer. This primer is perfect for evening out skin tone and also giving a boost of light to the skin. I have quite a bit of redness around my cheeks and nose and I am naturally yellow toned in my skin so this primer is perfect for those days when the redness is a little worse and needs something to really help cover it up and also keep my skin tone in check for my base. At £26.00 for 30ml it is a pretty standard of price for this level of brand and honestly I think the price reflects the standard of product.

So they are my favourite illuminating primers. Do you use any of these?
