This Months Empties

It's that time again for another empties post, I tend to put all my empty bottles into my box and then when there is enough for a post I sort through them. Every time it amazes me how many empty bottles are in there because I don't ever think I use up that many products, I have that many lotions and potions in my cupboard that nothing ever gets used up.

I have had loads of little sample pots and travel sized items recently as free gifts with a purchase etc so I have been trying to use them up as I just feel they clutter up not only my cupboard but my life! I am like the extreme opposite of a hoarder, I will throw things away in one of my clearing out moods and then the next day think oh I wonder where that mascara is...ooops it's in the bin! One of my New Year resolutions was to make sure I use products up first before throwing away in a strop so it's felt good to get rid of a few bottles that were collecting dust. This is going to be quite a long post so apologies in advance.

First up is the REN Rosa Centifolia Hot Cloth Cleanser, I absolutely love this cleanser. It makes your skin feel so incredibly soft and amazing after using it. Liz Earle was a firm favourite of mine but I'm afraid this REN version has become the top dog. I received this cleanser as a sample when I purchased an item a while ago and never got round to using it until recently, this little bottle lasted me a for a good 2 months which is just fantastic for a sample sized product. I loved it that much that I will most certainly be buying a full size bottle once my Liz Earle has ran out. Another New Year resolution is to only buy a new product when I have used one up...trying to be an adult and save money. So far I'm not enjoying it!

Benefit It's Potent Eye Cream is another favourite, I got this little pot within a mini travel set last year and have really loved it. The rest of the products were nice but this eye cream just stood out to me. I find the skin around my eyes is really sensitive but this really soothed the area and I genuinely noticed a difference after using this cream. I will most certainly re purchase this cream but I'm currently on a spending ban so I can't buy anything new until I have used up all my other products. The joys of being an adult!

Throughout December I really loved using this Sanctuary Foaming Shower Mousse, it feels ultra luxurious on the skin and leaves the skin feeling super soft and supple. The smell is just heaven in a bottle, I used to really love anything really sweet and fruity smelling but I'm now moving away from that to more amber scents and sandalwood etc. I have recently been really trying to use all up my tanning products as obviously they go off and the tanning agent ingredient eventually seems to evaporate especially with mousse type products. This bottle has been sat in my cupboard for absolutely months, I used to only ever use St Tropez but I recently found an amazing dupe called St Moritz which is more than half the price and is identical in terms of coverage, shade and longevity. Gone are the days of spending £30 odd pounds on one item!

This Soap & Glory Beauty Sleep Accelerator used to be one of my holy grail products but I seem to have swayed away from this and found some other items which I much prefer. I do still really like this cream when in flight on an airplane but as night cream...I think there are better out there.

I received these two Elemis products within a free gift with a purchase and really loved them. The Soothing Apricot Toner was just perfect for my skin, it really helped to soothe my sensitive skin and being alcohol free it is lovely and gentle. The smell of this toner can get a little sickly sweet but I can overlook that for the quality of product. Being completely honest I do prefer the Rehydrating Ginseng Toner purely because it suits my skin even better. The Pro-Collagen Marine Cream Ultra-Rich was ultra luxurious and super moisturising, I used it as a night cream for a couple of weeks and just fell in love but honestly I'm not gonna spend that much money repurchasing it.

I am quite seriously obsessed with washing my makeup brushes, I will sometimes wash them around 4-5 times a week! I just love the feeling of fresh clean brushes when applying makeup and I just hate the thought of germs and bacteria growing and multiplying in my brushes that will be touching my face! Yuk! So anyway, that means I go through a lot of brush cleaner and my current favourite has been this No7 Brush Cleaner. It is great as a super quick fix but I always use to deep clean once a week. It's reasonably cheap, it doesn't leave any residue behind and it works...well in my opinion. What more can I say.

Lastly is this Clarins Exfoliating Body Scrub, throughout Winter my skin gets really dry and flaky so exfoliators turn into my best friend. I was really impressed with this Clarins one, it leaves your skin feeling incredibly soft and the scent is super subtle so doesn't overpower anything.

So they're my current empty products. Sorry again for the lengthy post, it seems I had more empties than I realised. Do you use any of these products?
