Cream Eye Shadow Collection

I'm having a real moment with cream shadows currently, they're always so pigmented and when applied all over the lid it looks like 5 different powder shadows blended into each other. They're so easy to work with and I find they last so much longer on me than normal powder shadows. So I wanted to bring you my favourite cream based shadows.

First up are the Maybelline Color Tattoos, I have three shades from this little collection. I've got Creamy Beige which is perfect to use as a base for eyes as it's a matte finish. Metallic Pomegranate, which is a really deep shimmery pomegranate shade funnily enough. It has a slight shimmer running through it and looks really great when used to create a smokey plum/berry eye. Then I also have On and On Bronze which has got to be one of all time favourites. It a really soft/subtle bronze shade so is extremely user friendly and looks great for daytime or built up for an evening.

Next it's the Topshop Cream Shadows in shades Stripped and Revealed. Both are matte in finish and set really well onto the lids. Stripped is a pink toned nude and Revealed is a deep chocolate brown. I like to use Stripped all over the lid as a base or as a lighter shade for a smokey eye. Revealed is perfect to be used with a winged liner brush and used to line the eyes as this stuff stays put.

Next I have two lovely deep bronze shades that I haven't been able to stop wearing recently. I apply all over the lid and then on the lower lash line with a red lip and nude cheek. So for these I've got ELF Smudge Pot in shade Brownie Points and MaxFactor Excess Shimmer in shade 25 Bronze.

Lastly I've got a couple of shades from Illasmasqua. I've got shades Courtier and Embellish. Courtier is a lovely shimmery nude shade that looks really pretty when applied to the inner corner of the eyes and I also like to use this on my brow bone and cupids bow to accentuate them. Embellish is a shimmery brown that almost has a slight tinge of khaki/green to it, it's super pretty and looks lovely when paired with a rusty red shade.

So they're my current favourite cream shadows, I also have a few others on my wish list so let me know if you have any recommendations for me to try.

  1. I've never actually tried any cream shadows (bad beauty blogger alert!) but would love to get my hands on some of the Illamasqua shades! xx

  2. Wow they all look amazing!
I'm very fond of the Color Tattoos. Never tried the Maxfactor ones because I didn't really find an exceptional shade in that range and I swatched it at the drugstore and wasn't blown away by the consistency...

I've heard a lot of good things about the Charlotte Tilbury ones, really want to give them a go one day!

  6. I wish I loved cream eyeshadows as much as you, I find that they feel really sticky on my lids but I haven't tried any of those ones so maybe I might give them a go and hopefully like them!

  7. I've never used cream shadows before. I've always heard people saying they're hard to work with but I think I'll give them a go after reading this. Your blog photos are so beautiful :) x

    1. What. Never? You need to try them, they are more difficult to work with than powder but I still find them easy enough xx
