My Summer Makeup Bag

Ahh Summer. Bright lips, dewy skin and nude eyes are my classic go to's for Summer. I have pretty much been using these products everyday for the past month or so so I wanted to share them with you.

For my base I have been using the Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation, it gives such a healthy dewy glow to the face which is perfect for Summer. It contains Vitamin C so helps to awaken the skin which is exactly what I need with b****y hayfever! Also it contains an SPF of 15, I know some of you snap happy lot don't like your foundations to contain an SPF but I prefer to use skincare that doesn't contain sun protection as it doesn't really sit that well with my skin so I always try to use foundation that does contain protection. The matching concealer Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer is another current favourite. It's really creamy and lightweight on the skin so doesn't feel cakey on hot humid days. To set my base I have been using Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Powder in shade 30. I know not everyone likes the Les Beiges Powder but I absolutely love it. When swished all over my face it gives a really healthy lit from within subtle glow that just looks super pretty.

Then I have been using the Topshop Bronzer in shade Reflect. There's three stripes of colour in the pan, consisting of a highlighting shade, a reddy toned shimmer and a bronze/gold toned bronzer so when they're all swished together with the brush they give the perfect combination of colours to create a subtle daytime bronzer. I use this to contour the hollows of the face and then for my blush I have been using MAC Sheertone Shimmer Blush in shade Sunbasque. I love this blusher. It has a slight red undertone so works perfectly with a bronzed face and gives a lovely flush of colour of colour to the cheeks.

For my eyes I haven't been able to put this palette down. The Bobbi Brown Sand Palette is such a pretty nude palette. For summer I like to have a bronzed face with minimal eye makeup so this palette is just perfect for this. The shadows are really pigmented and work perfectly together. Then I just slick a layer of this Seventeen Va Va Voom Volume Mascara onto my lashes, it's in shade Black/Brown so looks really natural on the eyes and is perfect for the daytime.

On my lips I have been tooing and frowing between these two lippies. First up is the Clarins Joli Rouge Lipstick in shade 20 Coral Tulip. These lipsticks have a sheer formula which is super pretty for this time of year and the shade Coral Tulip is a lovely pinky/peach shade which is perfect for daytime use. For evenings I have been turning to the Bourjois Rouge Edition Aqua Lacque in shade 07 Fuchsia Perche. This is a liquid lipstick with a glossy finish, this particular shade is a really bright pink and looks so perfect against a nude lip and bronzed cheeks.

So they're the contents of my summer makeup bag, have you tried of these products? What do you think of them?

  3. I haven't tried most of the products (Though I really want to try the Seventeen mascara for I heard so many good things about it!), just the Bourjois lipstick and although I really liked the look, I was kind of disappointed it wasn't fully matte/Dry once applied! And I agree with the comments above, this palette has some amazing shades!!

By the way, I can't help but asking: Where did you get your bags? I absolutely love the Pink/Orange one!! xx
