Top 5 Single Eyeshadows

When it comes to eye shadow I know a lot of other bloggers and friends for that matter that are completely set on palettes, which honestly I can understand. They're a lot more cost friendly in the long run and in terms of the amount of different shadows you get for your money and they are also a lot more travel friendly, as you only need to take one palette rather than 6 or 8 different single eye shadows but I am still a single eye shadow girl at heart.

For one, I know you get more shadows in a palette but you more often than not get a smaller weight of product and I quite often find that shadows in a palette are never as good as their single counterpart. And two, there's always that one or even two shades in a palette that you're never going to use that brands seem to just stick in. But on the flip side I am all for building my own palettes as you obviously have a lot more control over the shades you are putting into the palette, like MAC for example you can create your own 2 or 4 even 15 shade palette, now that I can get on board with. I mean don't get me wrong I love a good palette but there's something about single eye shadows that I just adore. So I wanted to share my top 5 single eye shadows, and let me tell you, whittling my whole single eye shadow collection to 5 was no easy task.

So first up is the Maybelline Color Tattoo in shade Metallic Pomegranate. I love this stuff. The Color Tattoo's are cream based eye shadows, they are super well pigmented and have a really great shade range but this Metallic Pomegranate is just super pretty. It's a shimmery deep pink shade, I love to use this when creating a smokey berry eye. These eye shadows are super long lasting and don't crease at all on me.

Next is the L'Oreal Color Riche L'Ombre Pure in shade 507 Lumiere. This is just the prettiest eye shadow...ever. It's a light pink shade with a golden shimmer to it. This eye shadow is so incredibly buttery and soft, it blends and applies seamlessly onto the lid and is also really well pigmented. This is really nice to use dabbed on top of a nude/beige cream shadow to add a subtle colour and shimmer.

Then we have Urban Decay Eye Shadow in shade Chopper. This is a really subtle bronze shade, you all know how much I love my bronze eyes and this is no exception. It's like a browny bronze shade that looks incredibly pretty all over the lid with a swish of black liner. The shadow itself is so buttery and velvety soft, it picks up super well onto the brush and just glides on effortlessly. The colour is really pigmented and lasts for absolutely ages on the eyes without creasing or just generally melting away aswell.

Now we have the Look Beauty Statement Eyes Eyeshadow in shade 18 Luxe. This is a really pretty gold eye shadow. It's really finely milled so doesn't look too over the top but still gives enough glitter and glitz to jazz up any makeup look. I have been wearing this over a bronze eye, just dabbed onto the eyelids.

Lastly, is the Illamasqua Vintage Metallix in shade Courtier. I love this shadow. It's a creamy/nudey toned shade with little specks of colour mixed in. This is so soft and blendable, it applies like an absolute dream and sets nicely so you don't have to worry about touch ups or about it disappearing half way through the day.

So that's it, my current top 5 single eyeshadows. Do you like single eyeshadows or are you more of a palette kinda gal?
