Barely There Blushes

I am and always have been a massive fan of neutral blushes, they work with all makeup looks and I've just generally never been a lover of statement cheeks. A nice warm pink/berry shade is as far as I'll go when in Winter time but for the rest of the year I'm a neutral girl through and through.

So here are my current favourites that I wanted to share with you:

First is the Burberry Light Glow Natural Blush in shade Earthy Blush. I was first introduced to this blush when Lily Pebbles included it in one of her videos on Youtube about the Burberry catwalk makeup look and I instantly fell in love. This blush is super finely milled so glides beautifully onto the skin and leaves a really subtle hint of colour that doesn't sit on top of the skin. This shade really doesn't look all that appealing in the pan but trust me once it's on your skin it just gives a really subtle natural glow to the cheeks. It's hard to describe really, it's like when you're wearing a bold lip and black flicked liner and just want a hint of colour on the cheeks but you don't want a whole block colour this is the perfect alternative. It goes with any makeup look and also looks great just in the crease of the eye for a little definition.

Next is MAC Frost Powder Blush in shade Margin. This is a peachy pink shimmery blush and is just super pretty. Again this blush just goes with any makeup look whatsoever and just works to enhance your face. It gives a subtle hit of colour but also highlights because of the shimmer it contains and when I say shimmer this is in no way glittery, the light just bounces off this blush in a way that makes it look so pretty. I tend to wear this blush with a nude lip and deep smokey eyes, when I need something to brighten my face up and balance out the rest of my makeup.

Then we have the Bourjois Aqua Blush in shade Inge-Nude. It's a gel fluid that has a refreshing effect on the skin and gives a natural radiance and light finish to the skin. This shade in particular has got me hooked and I think I may well pick up every other shade in the collection. This particular shade I have found is perfect for this time of year to help to give a dewy finish. I have been wearing it with a minimal base, bright pink or coral lips and just simple eyes with a swish of mascara and I love it.

Next is Rimmel Lasting Finish Soft Colour Blush in shade 010 Santa Rose, this is the perfect every day natural rose toned blusher. It gives just the right amount of warmth to the cheeks without looking too pink or red and it's really finely milled so blends really easily.

And lastly is the MaxFactor Creme Puff Blush in shade Seductive Pink. This is a really pretty pale pink shade that looks super cute on the apples of the cheeks. It's quite pink in the pan but when applied it's very subtle and sheer subsequently giving the just right amount of colour to the cheeks without looking too pink and barbie like.

So they you have it, my favourite neutral blushes. Any recommendations?

  4. I love the Mac blush in Margin, it feels like there has been so much contouring and highlighting around in summer that a bit of traditional pink would be really refreshing!
