Morning Moisturising

I have spent what feels like my whole entire life searching for the perfect skincare routine but there's always been one step that I've never been completely happy with, so I change it to another product and that doesn't work in harmony with my other products...there's always some kind of problem, but I think I may have just cracked it.

I'm so happy with my morning moisturising routine that I just want to shout it from the rooftops and of course share it with you lot. So here it is...

After obviously completely my cleansing routine I follow with these three products. Firstly, the serum. You guys know how much I love my serums, my skin is really dry and dehydrated but can get a little oily on the t zone throughout the day sometimes so for my morning moisturising products I like to keep it quite light in the way of not using heavy creams, but I still need a good level of hydration, which is why I love serums so much; they give me the level of hydration and moisture that my skin needs without the oiliness/heaviness of a cream. Now, I have gone through countless amounts of serums forever in search of that one perfect product, well I think I've found it. The Clinique Turnaround Revitalizing Serum, oh my god I love this stuff. It is described as a high-powered serum that optimizes cell renewal to continually reveal fresher, healthier-looking skin. It helps to bring vibrant new cells to the surface for a refined, uniform texture and renewed healthy glow. I can completely agree with this, it's so velvety soft on the skin and gives an instant healthy lit from within glow. I use this every morning after cleansing and my skin tone is so much more even and my face is plumper and just generally more healthy looking. It sinks in almost immediately and leaves my thirsty skin feeling very suitably quenched. I can't put into words how much I love this serum but I have definitely found the one. It's gonna take something seriously special to push this bad boy off the pedestal.

Next, I apply the Elemis Pro-Radiance Illuminating Flash Balm. Now previously when I've used flash balms I haven't been able to get on with them, I've always found them too sticky for my skin and they also tend to bobble when massaging into the skin but not this one, oh no. This is like a hybrid of moisturiser, flash balm and primer all in one. It is so silky soft upon application and smooths onto the skin effortlessly. For me, a serum and an spf/tinted moisturiser isn't enough hydration on their own for my skin which is why I love this flash balm. As already mentioned my skin can get a little oily throughout the day but my skin type is dry/dehydrated so I have eventually come to the realisation that instead of using just one really hydrating and heavy cream on my face it is better to use a number of light layers. This flash balm, for me, is perfect for that middle layer. It offers a lovely light layer of hydration, it gives the perfect base for my spf to be applied onto and it helps to seal in the much needed moisture from my serum. This is super illuminating on the skin aswell, it doesn't contain any glitter or sparkle, just good skin friendly ingedients that work with your skin to give that lit from within finish.

Then lastly, this is a relatively new product but I think I have probably mentioned it in every single blog post since purchasing it. The Clinique City Block Sheer SPF 25. This is an oil-free (bonus points) tinted moisturiser if you like, with a broad sprectrum sun protection thrown in for good measure. It can be used alone as your daily spf or under makeup as a primer. I genuinely love this stuff. It applies beautifully and it's just so smooth. It blends and sinks into the skin effortlessly and doesn't leave any residue behind, plus it doesn't feel heavy like some facial SPF's can on the skin. The only way I can describe this is basically a mineral based tinted moisturiser come bb/cc cream with facial SPF. This offers the perfect finishing touch to my now perfect morning moisturising routine and it also leaves the perfect base to start applying my makeup onto.

Boom. My perfect morning moisturising routine. I'm so glad and happy to have finally cracked it. What do you use for your morning moisturising routine?
