My Fantastic Five

Me and skincare, believe it or not, never used to be all that close. In my teens and throughout my school years I literally owned a Simple Toner, a Simple Cleanser and a Simple Moisturiser. I used them religiously every day but never strayed beyond this threesome, I just found it a real chore and would often go to sleep with a full face of makeup on, but gone are those days. I'm now a skincare advocate and love to spend hours researching products and brands that could work well for me. Over the years I have come across many a product, some that didn't quite work for me and some that I absolutely love and are now staples within my routine but more importantly I have discovered a handful of skincare brands that I completely and utterly adore. I am pretty picky when it comes to skincare so the fact that these brands have stuck around for so long in my cabinet is really something for me.

Firstly, Antipodes. Now Antipodes is a relatively new brand to my collection, it's a completely natural skincare brand from New Zealand. Every product is created from carefully selected and sourced ingredients from nature, which are a skin friendly alternative to all the normal nasties found in many a skincare product. They also don't test on animals, all of their products are passed through scientific investigations with clinical trials and human testing. I have only tried a couple of products from Antipodes so far but I have been left amazed at the results that these products give and I can see my collection growing rather speedily over the coming months.

This Works is another natural beauty skincare brand. They believe whole heartedly in only using the finest quality, carefully selected ingredients. Such as plant oils and vitamins which are extremely powerful ingredients when used correctly and in the right cocktail of goodness. This Works is one of those brands that I always think of as a little more premium but still with a pretty reasonable price tag. Their products are always practical for the every day woman but throw in that little bit of luxury to make your morning or evening skincare that extra bit special.

I had previously used a couple of Clinique products but the brand never really had a massive presence within my beauty cabinet but I recently ventured back into the world of Clinique and quite honestly have never looked back since. I have absolutely loved every single product I have tried and they are all now complete staples in my routine. The thing I love most about Clinique is that all of their products are 100% fragrance free and allergy tested, making them perfect for us sensitive skinned lot. Whenever I think of Clinique, I always think of white lab coats and that general clean feeling which I just absolutely love.

Elemis is a British brand which is mainly one of the reasons why I love them. Elemis is used in many spas around the country making them, in my eyes, a really luxurious product. Whenever I use their products it takes me back to being in a spa like environment, giving me such a relaxed feeling at home. Another natural skincare brand, they use powerful marine and plant actives to form the foundation of all their products, "where the science of nature meets the science of skin".

Sarah Chapman, well what can I say. Every single product I have tried from this brand have been miracle workers, I have loved every single one of them and have never had a negative or critical word to say about the brand. Sarah Chapman skincare is of the more premium price range but I am a big believer in and advocate of investing in skincare. Now don't get me wrong, there are always those little bargain gems that you can find in the drugstore but I believe majority of the time 'you get what you pay for'. And Sarah Chapman is definitely that. She uses "high potency cosmeceutical ingredients with nurturing naturals and ultra luxurious packaging". She uses mainly active ingredients along with essentials oils to give that luxurious feeling along with the guaranteed results.

So they're my favourite skincare brands, what are yours? Do you have any recommendations?
