The Skin Pamperers

At this time of year it's all about the skin pamperers, my skin is dry and dehydrated at the best of times so with all the cold weather and central heating etc my skin needs all the help it can get, and these three are top of my list for keeping the hydration levels up.

The Body Shop Himalayan Charcoal Body Clay firstly smells ah-mazing, I can't quite make out what it is but there's definitely some tree tea or lavender going on in there. I apply this just before a bath or shower literally from neck to toe and leave for a few minutes to really sink in and do it's thang. After applying, the clay doesn't feel chalky or dry in the slightest on the skin and neither does it crack, it's so soft and just feels really gentle. It applies as quite a dark grey shade and dries to a light grey which indicates that it is time to remove from the skin. This made my skin feel so incredibly soft, like my skin has felt soft before but never like this. It hydrates and moisturises my skin whilst gently exfoliating and buffing the dead skin cells away.

To cleanse my face in the Autumn I much prefer to use a balm like texture. It feels so much more rich on my skin and this Sarah Chapman beauty is obviously my top pick, you all know how much love I have for her skincare. This for me is just the creme de la creme of cleansers. It's such a rich balm that massages so easily and effortlessly into the skin, you can almost feel this cleanser unclogging your pores and lifting those impurities out as you're gently massaging into the skin. I absolutely adore this cleanser, it's quite a heavy cleanser so I prefer to use in the evenings which is just purely personal preference. I do sometimes use in the mornings if my skin is feeling more dry than usual as this cleanser really helps to soothe the skin and inject some much needed moisture.

Then lastly is a relatively new addition to my collection, the Bliss Multi-Face-Eted All In One Anti-Ageing Clay Mask, and breathe. To use, I just apply to clean, slightly damp skin and spread all over my face apart from my eyes, obviously. It contains a slight grain which exfoliates the skin very gently and the mask itself is very smooth and workable so it just slides over the skin, it doesn't feel like you're dragging or pulling at the skin to apply. I apply this mask when my skin is feeling a little more dry and tight than usual as it really helps to inject some hydration aswell as gently exfoliate the dead skin cells away.

So they're my favourite skin pamperers for this time of year. What are yours?

  1. I've never heard of the Body Clay before, although I'm all up for trying anything that leaves my skin feeling softer!

  2. I have yet to try that SC cleanser but it's on my list! Have 7 on the go at the minute so can't justify any more until I use some of those up! xx

  3. Doing a little stalk of your blog (sorry not sorry) and your photos are so so beautiful. Random, but I wondered where that little wooden tray you photograph with a lot is from? Been searching for one like that for my bedside table for ages! Thanks angel.
