#50 Sunday Sounds - The Morning After The Night Before

Now that the party season is in full swing and Christmas is only around the corner I wanted to share with you my favourite products for applying 'the morning after the night before'. After a number of Christmas parties with drinking, heavy and full makeup and also with my trip to New York my skin has been terrible, super dry and flaky with a few pimples here and there. These have been the products that has completely saved my skin:

The Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel is unlike any gel cleanser I have ever tried, it isn't like a typical gel cleanser. I would personally would describe it as a gel like balm that turns into a rich oil when massaged into the face. This contains a whole host of skin friendly ingredients which give that radiance to the skin. After removing with a hot flannel skin is left feeling incredibly soft, radiant and healthy. It leaves behind a slight residue/film which is what really adds to the radiant finish, some people don't like this but I love it. My skin has been so dull recently and this has really helped to brighten it up and inject some life.

The Pixi Glow Mist is almost a sister like product to the cult Pixi Glow Tonic. It's a facial mist that can be used before moisturiser on cleansed skin, before makeup to give an even base or after makeup to set the foundation and refresh the skin. It contains 13, yep count them, 13 natural oils which are designed to give a glowing, luminous and smooth complexion. I have been using this mist like it's going out of fashion, I have been using after cleansing and before my serum step to give yet another layer of hydration and also on top of my makeup and throughout the day to refresh and hydrate my skin. I absolutely love this stuff, there will be a full review coming soon on a couple of new Pixi skincare bits so keep those peepers pealed for that but you can pretty much assume I love this stuff.

My eyes have been super sensitive recently because the amount of eye makeup I have been wearing so my secret weapon has been this Liz Earle Eyebright. I completely adore this stuff, it instantly soothes my sore and sensitive eyes and does a great job of removing the last little bits of makeup that I may have missed in my cleansing routine. It's also really cooling and refreshing to soak a couple of cotton pads and leave to rest on the eyes for a good 5 minutes.

Then the crowing glory is the Sarah Chapman Morning Facial. This is a lovely light oil, more like a thick serum type texture. It glides onto the skin like an absolute dream and leaves the face looking supple, healthy and glowy. I also have the Overnight Facial but this has been my life saver. My skin gets really dry in the mornings so using an oil with a lotion on top is just the ticket, this is light enough to apply a lotion/moisturiser on top but it's also hydrating and rich enough to use on it's own. I absolutely love this, it's an absolute life saver at this time of year for me.

So they're the products I have been using recently to keep my skin looking it's best over this drying and stripping season. Any recommendations?

  1. Gorgeous post Amanda, I literally love all those products. Liz Earl and Sarah Chapman are two brands I've been lusting after for a while, I'll be getting some of their gems after christmas for sure! Winter can really make my skin dry so I like to use Nuxe's Huile Prodigeous, I think thats how its spelt! It's so moisturising and really helps in the winter especially. Love the blog :D

  2. Such a gorgeous selection for a morning skincare routine. This is very similar to the routine I used to have. Never tried the Eyebright before though. Perhaps in the new year. :)
