#51 Sunday Sounds - December Favourites

I genuinely cannot believe it's the end of December and we are going into 2016. This month has a bit of a strange one for me, I've moved house, I've been to New York and it's Christmas so it's been pretty hectic and the month has just flown by. I've been trying out quite a few new products this month so you will probably notice a couple of new additions whilst there's still an odd old faithful floating around.

Skincare

The Pixi Glow Mist has been a life saver this month, aswell as the Sarah Chapman Morning Facial, but we'll move onto that in a bit. It's a facial mist that can be used before moisturiser on cleansed skin, before makeup to give an even base or after makeup to set the foundation and refresh the skin. Containing a massive 13 natural oils which are designed to give a glowing, luminous and smooth complexion. I have been using this mist like it's going out of fashion, I have been using after cleansing and before my serum step to give yet another layer of hydration and also on top of my makeup and throughout the day to refresh and hydrate my skin. I absolutely love this stuff, it's brightened my skin up no end and I now completely rely on it.

Then we have the Sarah Chapman Morning Facial. This is a lovely light oil, more like a thick serum type texture. I completely love this stuff, my skin has been so dry and flaky and sore this month and this has really helped to clear it up no end. I apply it in the morning after my serum and then apply an SPF over the top and I am good to go. It's my perfect trusted companion.

Bodycare

This month I haven't been able to stop wearing the Jo Malone Peony and Blush Suede, which is odd because it's normally my Spring/Summer time scent but I seem to now have a new found love for it in Winter time. Normally I tend to wear quite heavy and musky scents at this time of year so it's a lovely change to wear something fresh and floral and loads of people have commented saying how nice it smells.

When ever Soap and Glory gets brought up in conversation everyone always knows Righteous Butter but I feel like the other lotions/moisturisers sometimes get neglected and are actually better. One of my faves is the Soap and Glory Daily Smooth Moisturiser, I took the mini version of this on holiday to New York with me and it completely saved my skin, for some unknown reason my skin became really dry, itchy and sensitive whilst over there and this completely soothed my skin and injected some much needed moisture. I much prefer this over the Righteous Butter, I just find it a lot lighter in consistency but still with a massive hydration kick and it doesn't feel greasy like the Righeous Butter can sometimes.

Makeup

I've been having a real nude lip moment this month and I believe I may well have found the perfect duo. Now I'm not gonna say too much as I've got a full post coming up soon on this little match made in heaven but it consists of the Lancome Shine Lover Lipstick in Twisted Beige and Gosh Velvet Touch Lip Liner in Nougat Crisp.

With going to all the Christmas parties and the upcoming New Year parties I haven't stopped wearing the Gold Glow Luminising Powder in Gold No1. This is THE most beautiful highlighter I have ever had the pleasure of owning. It's super subtle on the skin so doesn't make you look like a disco ball, it gives just enough shimmer for that lit from within finish. I absolutely love it and have pretty much drenched my face in it over the past couple of weeks.

You know me, I love a good gold/bronze eye at the best of times so when it comes to Christmas I wear it pretty much every single day and this Collection Eyes Uncovered Palette in Nude Bronze is just the ticket. It's super travel friendly as it's quite small and compact and it contains every shade you would need to create a smokey gold/bronze eye...my classic staple look. To line the eyes I have been using the Bourjois Khol and Contour Liner, which is a lovely khaki/olive shade. The last item is the Clinique High Impact Mascara which I got free with a magazine and I completely love it. I haven't been able to stop using it and will definitely buy the full size version once this mini has ran out.

So they are my December favourites. What were yours?

  3. Great post! I really want to try that pixi glow mist and a lot of pixi skincare products to be honest. It's so difficult to get it in Australia.
